Check the basic connections
- Insert the headset's 3.5mm jack into the device or controller correctly. If necessary, unplug it and plug it back in.
- Insert the other side of the wire on the headset correctly.
- When the jack is correctly inserted into the Xbox controller port, you hear a soft click and you see the Audio option in the Settings menu.
- If it is not recognized, there can be a problem with the controller's headset port. Test another controller.
- Test the headset with another source that has a headset connection, like a mobile phone, a tablet or a laptop.
- If there is an issue when you use another source, adjust the volume on the headset to decrease the distortion. If you need to lower the volume to the point where it is too quiet to remove the distortion, this can indicate a damaged driver. Contact the support team.
If there is no issue, there can be a problem with the volume settings on the console.
Check the volume settings on the console
By default, when you first plug in a headset, the Xbox sets the volume at a mid-level.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller.
- Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.
- Adjust the volume. If you hear a distortion, lower it and if it is too low, increase it. We do not recommend testing the volume at the highest levels.
