The RIG 800 HX headset is compatible with PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Due to circuitry differences between Xbox and PlayStation consoles, it is not compatible with PlayStation consoles.
The RIG 800 PRO series headsets feature the following changes and additions:
- Improved design and finish
- Charging stand with battery level indicator
- USB-stick style 2.4 GHz RF wireless adapter
NOTE: You can either plug the adapter into the charging base and plug the base into your console/PC, or plug the adapter directly into your console/PC. - Unremovable PRO style microphone with a reinforced flip-to-mute feature
- Press-and-hold Power button instead of a slide switch
- No EQ button
Changes specific to the 800 PRO HX version:
- Separate master volume dial
- Game/chat audio balance dial
- Separate button for mic monitoring adjustment
Check the basic connections
- If the microphone is removable, make sure that it is fully inserted and is facing the correct way.
- Put the microphone no more than 3-5cm away from your mouth.
- Make sure that the microphone isn't muted on the headset.
RIG 800 headsets have a flip-to-mute feature. To unmute, flip the mic boom all the way up and then all the way down. - If the microphone is removable, turn up mic monitoring on your headset until the microphone detects your voice. If it doesn't detect your voice, there may be an issue with the microphone and it can be replaced.
- Reconnect the headset.
- Turn off the headset.
- Unplug the receiver from the console or PC.
- Wait 15 seconds.
- Plug the receiver again.
- Turn on the headset.
Check the settings on the console
Xbox
Make sure that the headset is assigned to the correct user profile.
PlayStation 4
- Go to Settings > Sound/Devices > Adjust Mic Level.
- To enable the Game/Chat Mix audio balance feature, use the optical audio output on your console.
PC
- From your chat application, make sure that you assigned the correct microphone and that it is not muted.
- To enable the Game/Chat Mix audio balance feature, use the optical audio output on your PC.
The RIG 800 series has four EQ settings available to adjust the sound. There is an EQ button at the base of the right earcup. Tap this button to go through the EQ modes.
- Pure: This is the flat EQ setting. There is no modification to the incoming sound signature.
- Seismic: This is a bass boost. Low frequencies are made slightly louder.
- Intense: This is a treble boost. All high frequencies are boosted.
- Vocal: This option boost the mid-range. Vocals are enhanced.
Your choice is based on the game you are playing, what kind of sounds you need to focus on and your personal preference.
RIG 800 older versions
On older versions of the RIG 800 headset, you must adjust the mic monitoring on your console.
On Xbox
- Assign the headset to the correct user profile.
- On the controller, press the Nexus button.
- Go to Quick Settings > Profile & System > Audio > Mic Monitoring.
- Adjust the mic monitoring level to your preference.
On PlayStation 4
- On the controller, press the PS button.
- Go to Quick Menu > Sound/Devices.
- Use the Sidetone volume slider to adjust the mic monitoring.

RIG 800 new versions
On new versions of the RIG 800 headset, there are three levels of mic monitoring:
- Normal: The default level of mic monitoring.
- High: Increases the level of mic monitoring.
- None: Removes the mic monitoring.
- Power on the headset.
- Push the EQ button and hold for three seconds. You can hear three low tones.
- Release the button. You set the mic monitoring to High.
- Push the EQ button and hold for three seconds. You can hear one low tone.
- Release the button. You set the mic monitoring to None.
- Push the EQ button and hold for three seconds. You can hear two low tones.
- Release the button. You set the mic monitoring to Normal.
- Speak into the microphone to get an idea of the volume.
Repeat these steps to cycle through the three mic monitoring settings.
- Remove the ear cups from the headband frame.
- Put one end of the new speaker cushion material into the plastic groove on the ear cup and hold it in place.
- Pull and stretch the rest of the speaker cushion around the groove until the material is fully in it. To make sure that the material is correctly in place, give the speaker cushion a light turn.
- Put the ear cups back into the headband frame.
- Make sure that the ear cups are correctly in place. When you extend the microphone, it must be pointing away from the RIG logo on the headband frame and not towards it.
Dolby Atmos is compatible only with Xbox and Windows 10/11.
- Download the Dolby Access app.
- On PC, you can download it from the Microsoft store here.
- On Xbox, you can download it from the Xbox store or the Microsoft store.
- Connect your headset to your PC or console.
When the headset is connected, Dolby Access detects it and activates Dolby Atmos for Headphones.
